ProtoHumiX® certificates and classifications

In the European Union, every claimed action rests on three things: classification in clearly defined categories, meeting the safety requirements, and documenting the function the product states.

ProtoHumiX® has CE marking under Regulation (EU) 2019/1009 and appears in two functional categories: as soil improver PFC 3(B) and plant biostimulant PFC 6(B). Additionally, it has passed verifications required in organic farming: IUNG-PIB qualification and approval in the DACH region standard (EASY-CERT).

Our certificates

CE — Soil improver PFC 3(B)

CE — Soil improver PFC 3(B)

Permanent improvement of soil parameters: structure, water retention, chemical buffering, sorption and biological activity.

According to the EU type-examination certificate, ProtoHumiX® has been classified in the functional category PFC 3(B). Under the "fertilising" Regulation (EU) 2019/1009, an inorganic soil improver is a product whose main task is the permanent modification of physical, chemical or biological properties of soil.

The certificate confirms functions: increasing soil fertility (natural chelation), improving crumb structure, increasing water capacity, positive influence on humus-forming processes, increasing biological activity, pH stabilization and chemical buffering, and reducing the mobility of heavy metals and toxins.

Obtaining the CE certificate is a rigorous process supervised by a Notified Body (PCBC, No 1434): CMC-1 raw material purity, process stability (patent EP3135655), toxicological safety and over 10 years of field trials on different soil types and climate zones.

For the farmer, CE marking in category PFC 3(B) means a confirmed soil improver status, investment security, a melioration effect (rather than ad-hoc fertilization), legality throughout the EU and batch predictability.

A note on terminology: "soil improver" is the legal wording of Regulation (EU) 2019/1009 and the term that appears on our certificate. In everyday use the same kind of product is called a soil conditioner. Both describe what ProtoHumiX® does — permanently change soil structure and water-holding capacity — but only the first is the certified regulatory category.

CE — Plant biostimulant PFC 6(B)

CE — Plant biostimulant PFC 6(B)

Stimulates plant nutrition processes independently of ingredient content. CE declared function: yield quality traits (growth and growth dynamics).

Under Regulation (EU) 2019/1009, a plant biostimulant (PFC 6) is a product whose function is to stimulate plant nutrition processes independently of nutrient content. ProtoHumiX® has PFC 6(B) status — a non-microbial biostimulant in which the active factors are substances (fulvic and humic acids), not living microorganisms.

The CE declaration concerns the function: yield quality traits — understood as yield increase and acceleration of plant growth. In field trials, yield increases of 10% to 44% were recorded.

The verification path included: effectiveness studies (10 years of field trials, some over 5 consecutive years on the same site), safety studies (no phytotoxicity) and verification of claims by a notified body.

For the farmer this means: cost-effectiveness of the treatment (ROI), predictability of action, safety and compliance with the EU system, and legality of trade throughout the Union under 2019/1009.

IUNG-PIB — Approval for organic farming

Qualification certificate No SE/132/2025 confirming compliance with EU regulations for organic production and usability in BIO farms.

ProtoHumiX® holds a Qualification Certificate issued by the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation (IUNG-PIB), No SE/132/2025, confirming full compliance with Regulation (EU) 2018/848 and (EU) 2021/1165.

Under Annex II to Regulation (EU) 2021/1165, humic and fulvic acids are permitted only if obtained using inorganic salts or solutions, excluding ammonium salts. Our process (patent EP3135655) is a physical/hydromechanical process — we do not use synthetic solvents (CMC 1 category: Virgin Material).

A large share of humic products is made chemically — by dissolving brown coal in strong alkalis (KOH or NaOH) — which can bring salinization and loss of soil microflora with it. ProtoHumiX® comes from a physical/hydromechanical process and reaches its biological activity without that chemistry — including in sensitive organic crops.

For the organic producer, the IUNG certificate means: administrative security (subsidies and the BIO certificate stay in place), a yield that stays within the authorized inputs, and purity — organic matter with an intact micellar structure.

EASY-CERT — DACH eco standard

EASY-CERT — DACH eco standard

Validation approving the product for use in organic farming in Austria (DACH region).

ProtoHumiX® has successfully passed the validation process by EASY-CERT — a body verifying production inputs for organic farming in Austria. This document opens the way to using the product on farms associated in prestigious organizations such as Bio Austria.

The DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) is characterized by some of the most restrictive soil protection regulations in Europe. Austrian standards for cadmium, lead and mercury content are more restrictive than in many other EU countries — ProtoHumiX® demonstrated purity at the level required for food products.

Product status in the register: Betriebsmittel für die biologische Landwirtschaft (production input for organic farming), category Pflanzenhilfsmittel (plant aid).

For the farmer this means: export quality of crops to Western markets, double security (IUNG-PIB and EASY-CERT verification) and a guarantee of soil purity — critical in contact crops and baby food production.
