Four documents, four scopes

Three bodies issued four documents: CE in two categories, the IUNG-PIB qualification and the EASY-CERT validation for the DACH region.

Each of the documents attests compliance with the regulations within its own scope; yield is measured in field trials.

ProtoHumiX® certificates

CE — Soil improver PFC 3(B)

Seven-item specification: from soil fertility and structure to reduced mobility of heavy metals.

According to the EU type-examination certificate, ProtoHumiX® has been classified in the functional category PFC 3(B). Under the "fertilising" Regulation (EU) 2019/1009, an inorganic soil improver is a product the function of which is to maintain, improve or protect the physical or chemical properties, the structure or the biological activity of the soil.

Specification in the certificate: increases soil fertility, improves soil structure, increases soil water capacity, has a positive effect on humus-forming processes, increases soil biological activity, stabilizes pH and chemical buffering, reduces the mobility of heavy metals and toxins.

Obtaining the CE certificate is a rigorous process supervised by a Notified Body (PCBC, No 1434): CMC 1 raw material purity, process stability (patent EP3135655), toxicological safety and field trials from 2014–2023 on different soil types and in different climate zones.

CE — Plant biostimulant PFC 6(B)

Non-microbial biostimulant with one specification on its certificate.

Under Regulation (EU) 2019/1009, a plant biostimulant (PFC 6) is a product whose function is to stimulate plant nutrition processes independently of nutrient content. ProtoHumiX® has PFC 6(B) status — a non-microbial biostimulant in which the active factors are substances (fulvic and humic acids), not living microorganisms.

The CE certificate states one specification: “Quality traits: increased yield and accelerated plant growth.”

The verification path included: effectiveness studies (field trials from 2014–2023, including four consecutive seasons on one farm), safety studies (no phytotoxicity) and verification of claims by a notified body.

IUNG-PIB — Approval for organic farming

Qualification certificate No SE/132/2025 confirming compliance with EU regulations for organic production and usability in BIO farms.

ProtoHumiX® holds a Qualification Certificate issued by the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation (IUNG-PIB), No SE/132/2025, confirming full compliance with Regulation (EU) 2018/848 and (EU) 2021/1165.

Under Annex II to Regulation (EU) 2021/1165, humic and fulvic acids are permitted only if obtained using inorganic salts or solutions, excluding ammonium salts. ProtoHumiX® is made from brown coal in a mechanochemical process (CMC 1 category: Virgin material substances and mixtures).

The product is on the IUNG-PIB list under No SE/132/2025 and may be used in organic farming.

EASY-CERT — DACH eco standard

Validation approving the product for use in organic farming in Austria (DACH region).

ProtoHumiX® has successfully passed the validation process by EASY-CERT — a body verifying production inputs for organic farming in Austria. This document opens the way to using the product on farms associated in prestigious organizations such as Bio Austria.

The DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) is characterized by some of the most restrictive soil protection regulations in Europe. Austrian standards for cadmium, lead and mercury content are more restrictive than in many other EU countries — ProtoHumiX® demonstrated purity at the level required for food products.

Product status in the register: Betriebsmittel für die biologische Landwirtschaft (production input for organic farming), category Pflanzenhilfsmittel (plant aid).

For the farmer this means: export quality of crops to Western markets, double security (IUNG-PIB and EASY-CERT verification) and a guarantee of soil purity — critical in contact crops and baby food production.
