We bring humic acids into everyday use

Humic acids have long been known in agriculture. ProtoHumiX® is manufactured in the European Union in accordance with patent EP3135655. We supply it to farms, agricultural retailers and distributors, and an advisor helps choose the dose and timing.

Matter returns to the cycle

Humic substances form through humification: a long transformation of organic matter, different from its fast decomposition. The extract comes from the oldest, carbonised structures in brown coal.

Source: Humic acids form wherever organic matter has undergone humification: in soil, in peat, in bottom sediments. They occur in the highest concentration in brown coal, the raw material of ProtoHumiX®.
Scale: The extract is produced at the scale agriculture needs. Humic acids, locked in brown coal for millions of years, reach the soil with it.

Genesis and innovation
A method for the mechanochemical extraction of humic acids takes shape — the one described in patent EP3135655.
2014–2018
Patent application
23.04.2014 — invention filed (priority date). The international PCT application was published as WO2015/163785.
2016
Approval for organic farming in Austria
The first approval of the product for use on Austrian organic farms. Today the Austrian document is the EASY-CERT validation for the DACH region.
2020
European patent
EP3135655B1 granted on 23.12.2020 — confirming that the method is patentable.
2024–2025
Construction of the first production plant
Launch of the first ProtoHumiX® production line in the European Union.
2025–2026
CE certification
Compliance with the quality and safety requirements of Regulation (EU) 2019/1009, confirmed by two certificates: for the biostimulant and for the soil improver.

Launch of mass production and the start of product distribution.

Patented technology

ProtoHumiX® is made in a patented process, run in a controlled and repeatable way. The process is designed to give a material with stable quality parameters at a production cost that allows use on various types of farms.

The manufacturing process of the ProtoHumiX® biostimulant is protected by a patent (European patent EP3135655B1).
